Axelrod Sees NH as Battleground
David Axelrod sees epic fight, says Republicans obstructing progress on jobs.
New Hampshire will again be a battleground state in 2012, according to David Axelrod, the senior strategist for President Obama's re-election campaign.
Axelrod just spoke and is now fielding questions from the audience at "Politics & Eggs," the seminal campaign stop for presidential candidates and their surrogates. The event is hosted by the New England Council and the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Goffstown.
The former White House senior advisor said his boss would continue to fight for the middle class, describing it as the key issue of 2012. In his remarks, he also said Republicans talk a good game about bipartisanship, but do not put it into practice.

In his remarks, Axelrod spoke of jobs and the importance of providing an education to the youth of America that keeps the country competitive around the world.
"If you cut education by 25 percent, which is what has been proposed by the other side, you're mortgaging our future," he said.

Axelrod is also promoting the president's American Jobs Act. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, was in New Hampshire on Saturday to promote the Obama jobs plan.
