Jeanne Shaheen to Tour Nanocomp on Friday

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, will be in Merrimack Friday as part of a three town and city tour to hear from business owners about the impact Small Business Administration programs have had on their small businesses, job growth, and the overall economy in New Hampshire.

Shaheen will be joined on her three stops with U.S. Small Business Administration Chief Karen Mills.

At 11:15 a.m., Shaheen and Mills will tour and hold a press availability at Nanocomp Technologies in Merrimack, a producer of next-generation industrial fabrics and coatings, which took advantage of federal research and development awards under the Small Business Innovation Research program to grow their business.

Earlier in the day they will tour SemiGen in Manchester, which produces printed circuit boards and microwave transmitters, and which recently expanded with the help of an SBA loan. Following the Merrimack stop, they will visit Absolute Resource Associates in Portsmouth, an environmental testing firm which has also taken advantage of SBA loans.

The day's schedule is below:

• 10 a.m.: Tour and press availability at SemiGen facility with SemiGen President Jim Morgan.
  SemiGen is at 920 Candia Road, Manchester.
• 11:15 a.m.: Tour and press availability at Nanocomp Technologies facility with Nanocomp Technologies CEO Peter Antoinette.
  Nanocomp Technologies is at 57 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack.
• 3:30 p.m.: Tour and press availability at Absolute Resource Associates with President and CFO Susan Sylvester and CEO Guy Sylvester.
  Absolute Resource Associates is at 124 Heritage Avenue, No. 16, Portsmouth.
