Vice President Joe Biden Coming to Exeter

Find out when.

Vice President Joe Biden will campaign at Exeter Town Hall this Thursday, according to the Nashua Telegraph's Kevin Landrigan.

Landrigan yesterday Tweeted the location of Biden's visit. A representative for Biden has not yet taken out a permit from Exeter officials for the visit.

New Hampshire is seen as a key swing state in this year's presidential election. Biden has already made several visits to the Granite State in recent months, including one in Rochester in January.

President Obama visited Nashua earlier this year, and Michelle Obama made a stop in Concord last month.

Exeter Patch will have full coverage of Biden's visit Thursday.

For some reason, for at least the past 30 years, we usually make fun of the VP no matter who he is and for which party. Mr. Biden was a key member of the Senate who was a favorite of talk shows and journalists. Then, about 2 seconds after he became VP, he was "bumblin' joe." Nice though that NH is important in this election.

But we all know MSNBC has always been fair when reporting.

Do you mean “out of touch” compared to multi-millionaire Romney? You know nothing about the man. The Vice President did not grow up well-off in Scranton, PA. And his life in his early Senate career was far from easy. Just a few weeks after he was elected, VP Biden's wife and one-year-old daughter were killed in an automobile accident. He considered resigning to care for this two sons but he was persuaded not to by other Senators. To be at home every day for his young sons, Biden began the practice of commuting every day by Amtrak train for 1½ hours each way from his home in the Wilmington suburbs to Washington, D.C., which he continued to do throughout his Senate career. A single father for five years, Biden left standing orders that he be interrupted in the Senate at any time if his sons called. I have a lot of admiration for this man.

Patriot,
So I’m to assume that your "point" is because utopia is not possible we should therefore just throw in the towel and submit to a total right wing oligarchy?. I don’t get what you’re saying.
On gas prices, with the help of a little [correction- a lot of] sarcasm, we agree. Bush did bring down gas prices! Congratulations to him! He did this by crashing the economy, leading to the most severe recession since the great depression. In turn, this caused a world oil glut and gas prices plunged.. So when republicans say they can bring down gas prices, believe them. They would gladly crash the economy again.
If that sarcasm is over your head, let put it to you another way. Domestic production is at an all time high and your claim that offshore drilling, and not the great recession caused the drop in oil prices in that time frame is a preposterous lie of gigantic proportions.
Republicans now block even modest attempts to rein in oil speculation, [the main cause of escalating prices] fight tooth and nail against renewable energy, saber-rattle the war drums with Iran, and then have the audacity to blame Obama for high gas prices. Unbelievable hypocrisy.

Changes in US gasoline prices over the past 10 years have predominantly been due to market factors rather than US federal economic or energy policies. Oil is a global market in which America is a big consumer but a small supplier. We consume about 20 percent of the world’s oil but hold only 2 percent of the oil reserves. That means we are, in economics jargon, “price takers.” Domestic production has increased during the Obama administration, but it has had minimal effects on global prices because, as producers, we are just too small to matter much. And even if domestic oil companies further increased production, they would sell to the highest global bidder. THE US PRESIDENT DOES NOT CONTROL GASOLINE PRICES.

The US is now actually much closer to energy independence than it has been in decades! Last year, the U.S. imported 45 percent of its liquid fuel from other countries, which is a huge drop from the record highs of just six years ago. Not only that, we have actually become a net exporter for refined petroleum and could soon do the same for natural gas. If current trends in production and demand keep up, the long-held dream of not relying on anyone else for power could actually become a reality. Not that President Obama will get any credit for it. His Republican challengers have spent most of the last year attacking him for high gas prices that he has no control over.

Even Republicans (the intellient ones anyway; not the ones who lick Glenn Beck's spittle) understand the the President has ZERO impact on gasoline prices. Its more likely Wall Street speculators, who (drum roll please) are driving up the cost AND are likely to be Republicans. Hardy har har indeed.
