Rotary Club Installs New Officers

Peter Giacapuzzi named new president of Merrimack Rotary Club, awarded Rotarian of the Year alongside Colleen Farley.

The Rotary Club of Merrimack installed the new 2011-12 officers and directors at the annual "Changing of the Gavel Dinner" June 30, at the John O'Leary Adult Community Center. Peter Giacapuzzi was named president, Paul Belfiore, past president; Steve Russell, president elect; Andrew Steeves, vice president; Jane Hoover, secretary; and Pat McGrath, treasurer.
 
Eric Winkler, Peter Flood, Lynn Christensen, Ralph Stevens, Mike Hoover, and Ron Douville were named as directors who make up the Executive Committee to the club.
 
In addition to installing officers and directors awards were given to Jane Hoover (Service Award); Ralph Stevens (President's Award); Colleen Farley (Rotarian of the Year Award); Pete Giacapuzzi (Rotarian of the Year Award); Former Chief of Police Mike Milligan (Paul Harris Fellowship Award); Tim Brand (Unsung Hero Award), and Bill Wilkes (John O'Leary Award).

Committee chairpeople include Rob Moore (membership), Ralph Stevens (international services and Rotary Foundation), Maureen Mooney (public relations), Lynn Christensen (club runner), Ralph and Sylvia Stevens (fellowship), Troy Aarthum (programs), Dick Hinch (Sergeant of Arms), Fundraising (Steve Russell), Peter Flood (vocational services), Paul Belfiore (community services) and Mike Hoover (club services).

The Rotary Club of Merrimack is a volunteer service organization supporting local communities with donations and scholarships. Merrimack Rotary projects have included Kids' Kove, scholarships to graduating high school seniors, support for Merrimack Flood Relief, the Merrimack July 4th festivities, the Rotary 4 Way Speech Contest, the Interact Program, field lighting at Reeds Ferry Fields and many other projects.
