Sak's Fifth Avenue Outlet Coming to Merrimack

Announcement from designer store makes it the first known shop coming to the Merrimack Premium Outlets.

With an opening slated for June 2012, the owners of the Merrimack Premium Outlets have kept tight lipped about what stores are coming to the 135-store mall.

On Monday, however, Saks Fifth Avenue announced in a press release that it is opening five new Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH outlets around the country in 2012, including one in Merrimack, marking the first known store coming to the upscale outlet center.

"The new stores will be located in upscale outlet, lifestyle, or strip centers, and each store will be designed in OFF 5TH's unique 'luxury in a loft' format," the release said.

The new locations will include outlets in Merrimack; Syracuse, N.Y.; Livermore, Calif., Grand Prairie, Texas, and Nashville, Tenn. The Merrimack store will be the first Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH in New Hampshire, and the Nashville store will replace the one lost in the 2010 flood in Tennessee.

"We look forward to being a part of the Nashville community again, and we are delighted to bring our stores to customers in the new markets," said Robert Wallstrom, President of Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH.

The store will feature an open air, loft-like environment and will range from 25,000 to 28,000 square feet, according to the release.

Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH sells an array of designer brand sportswear, handbags, shoes and more, including an expanded assortment of fine jewelry and a newly-launched beauty department will be available at the new stores.

The Merrimack Premium Outlets project is a more than 400,000 square-foot upscale retail center that will include multiple restaurants and a hotel, are off Exit 10 of the F.E. Everett Turnpike.

Owned by Simon/Premium Outlets, the retail center will create more than 1,000 jobs according to the outlet website.

It is unknown at this time what other stores will be coming to the Outlets.
