Firefighters 5k. Get out for a little exercise for a good cause this weekend. The Merrimack Firefighter's 5k will start (and end) at Merrimack High School at 9:30 a.m. The money raised from this event will go to fund our community activities that include Thanksgiving dinners, heating assistance and Scholarships to Merrimack families. We also donate to many different community organizations such as the Lioness Club, Salvation Army, Merrimack Chamber of Commerce, Merrimack Fire Explorer Post, Merrimack Fire Department Junior Fire Muster, The New Kids Kove and Merrimack sports teams. Pre-registration is $20, race day registration is $25.

Light the Night. Join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the Nashua Light The Night Walk on Saturday, Oct. 5 to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. This family-friendly three-mile evening walk features illuminated balloons – white honor patients and survivors, red represent supporters, and gold pay tribute to loved ones lost. Teams are made of friends, families, co-workers, students, sports teams, organizations, etc. Who will you walk with? Register today at http://pages.lightthenight.org/ma/Nashua13 or call 508-810-1342.
