FIRST Robotics Team Chop Shop #!66 Moves on to New England District Championship

The Merrimack High School FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team #166 Chop Shop competed in their second New England District event this past weekend in Lewiston Maine at the Pine Tree District Event. Chop Shop made it to the quarter-finals with their robot in an alliance with two other teams from Maine. Though they were eliminated in the second round, Chop Shop won the "Spirit Award" for this event. More importantly the team has earned enough points to compete at the District Championship in Boston this coming weekend! While the team has just enough to cover the $4,000 entrance fee and various travel expenses, their funds are depleted. If they qualify to go to the World Championship in St. Louis they may not be able to afford the travel expenses.
