The theatre is a modern facility on the bottom level of the ship, equipped with a large screen and state-of-the-art equipment including surround sound. This will enable Mass Maritime students and personnel greater recreational opportunities while at sea, sometimes for weeks at a time. With the state-of-the-art theatre equipment, students can view current movies and enjoy a level of recreation not previously available on the ship. There are also opportunities to use the theatre for educational reasons as well.

LifeLine Ambulance Service has worked with Mass Maritime on a number of initiatives, including developing an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program and the MMA EMS (Massachusetts of MMA EMS (Massachusetts Maritime Academy Emergency Medical Service). In addition,  LifeLine has donated a number of ambulances for the school. There is a Class I Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance, a Class V ambulance and a golf cart ambulance - all intended for use over different areas of the campus. LifeLine retrofitted, painted and donated all three vehicles to Mass Maritime, and provided EMT training for the cadets.  The ambulance carries the most modern basic life support equipment for use by the Academy's emergency medical technicians, including personal protective equipment, medical and trauma equipment, an automated external defibrillator, and onboard oxygen and suction systems. LifeLine further donated six AED (automatic external defibrillators) to be stored aboard the Maritime Academy’s ship, Kennedy, for use if and as needed. During the last year of the MMA EMS, there were 70 patient transports.

Brian J. Connor, CEO of LifeLine Ambulance, said, “We believe the theatre will be a tremendous upgrade for the Maritime ship and a welcome addition for the students. We are honored to play a key role and partner with Mass Maritime Academy.”
