Another Example Of The Madness In Concord

I am sure everyone has heard the phrase “the fall of Rome" once or twice. What I have been thinking lately is did they, the Romans know they were falling?  As you have probably heard the Romans had the best water distribution system in the world.  Their aqueducts were known throughout civilization.  However we now know that their system may have had a fatal flaw, their pipes were lined with lead.  Their disintegration of their society may have been caused by their own wonderful water, making them go mad.

Which brings me here today, what is happening to us, as Americans and citizens of New Hampshire?  Clearly there is something drastically wrong going on.  When in a Republic, disguising as a Democracy we hear and know the loathing we place on the Politicians who make laws and policy over our lives.  Yet we re-elect them over 90% of the time.  Challengers rarely win and we put the same people back in office again and again.  We have become a doormat of a people with Mobster/Gangster Politicians pursuing their games over us, at which we seem incapable of changing.

Stopping the Madness has become the theme of my campaign.  All I can do is bring the information and stories to the voting public and hope that they hear it and do something about it.  The insurance scam going on in New Hampshire is another example of the madness going on in Concord.  There are men and women in Concord who not only don't believe in the free market system, but actually create laws to prohibit it from taking place.  These politicians along with insurance bureaucrats have deliberately created a system we can't challenge or change unless the voting public starts electing new people. Every alderman, selectman, councilor and school board member in this State should know what I am talking about, but almost none of them say a word.  Being on the Town Council of Merrimack has given me the opportunity to know of this corrupt system   first hand but unfortunately the system is deep with law makers making sure it stays in place.

Allow me to explain; HealthTrust formally known as LGC is what politicians in Concord call a quasi-private insurance company.  Believe me there is nothing private about them (unless you're talking about the minutes taken in their board meetings).  You see, HealthTrust only sells insurance to cities and towns within NH.  Furthermore they only sell to state and municipal employees, that means to only police, fireman, highway workers, teachers anyone with a government paid job.  They sell to no private industry.  Therefore they derive all their premiums from taxes collected from cities and towns.  A non-government employer or employee cannot buy any kind of insurance from them.  This leaves cities and towns to buy from them or one other company known as Primex, who specializes is municipal employee and property insurance and since there are only these two to choose from you can guess their prices are pretty similar.  We who work on the budgets for our communities know all this but seem incapable to do anything about it.  In Merrimack our employee family plan was approximately $16,000 six years ago, today it's over $30,000 and is projected to jump to $35,000.  How do the citizens of our communities supposed to keep up with this?  How can Alderman and town Councilors protect our citizens from higher and higher property taxes when the State inflicts this Madness?

When it comes to insurance in NH the free market is a lie and will be backed up by political muscle that will not yield its power over cities and towns. All a guy like me can do is tell you what's going on around you, who you elect to do something about it, is up to you.
