Macy's Celebrates National Believe Day by Fulfilling 'Wishes Across America'

Celebrate the season of giving on Friday at the Macy's at Mall of NH in Manchester.

On Dec. 14, Macy’s celebrates the season of giving with its 5th annual National Believe Day. Inspired by Macy’s beloved “Believe” campaign, National Believe Day aims to inspire Americans to spread the spirit of generosity throughout the holiday season.

On Friday, Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire is proud to grant a Wish for Ashley, 18, of Londonderry, and we are celebrating her wish with a shopping trip at Macy’s in Manchester at 3:30p that day.

Ashley is leaving on her trip to meet Justin Bieber in Little Rock, AR on Jan. 8 to Jan. 11, 2013. Justin Bieber’s music brings her great joy, as she sings along and smiles while listening to him. Noise and music helps her with her seizure disorder, in turn Justin Bieber’s music has become therapeutic to her.  She is in a wheel chair and non-verbal, but her best friend Jennifer, who is also the daughter of her home care nurse, has grown up with her and will be traveling with her on this trip…along with her mother and nurse.

The public is invited to Macy's at Mall of New Hampshire, to meet Ashley and her family...and other Make-A-Wish children on Dec. 14 at 3:30 p.m.  They will be meeting at the store's beautiful "Believe" station, with a giant red letterbox, desk for writing Santa letters and décor.

Macy’s “Believe” campaign invites children of all ages to mail their letters to Santa using Macy’s red Santa Mail letterboxes. For every letter mailed, Macy’s will donate $1, up to $1 million, to Make-A-Wish.  On National Believe Day, Friday, December 14, Macy’s will double the donation by contributing an additional $1 to Make-A-Wish for every letter received, up to $500,000,  above and beyond Macy’s $1 million goal.In celebration of National Believe Day, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish will grant extra wishes across the country to create a day of “Wishes Across America” for children with life-threatening medical conditions In addition to Ashley’s wish in Manchester, more than 60 wishes will be granted in states across the country.
