5 Things You Need To Know Today: July 21

Temperatures really start to heat up. Expect extreme heat for next three days.

1. Feeling hot, hot, hot. Today is going to be the first of three very hot days. While the high is expected to be around 98 degrees, the heat index values or, in other words, how hot it really feels, could reach as high as 104. Be safe, keep in cool places and make sure to drink plenty of water.

2. Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer was in Bedford yesterday for a Politics and Eggs event ahead plans to announce his candidacy for president today. 3. The Town Council will meet for its July meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Meeting Room. The meeting will include a public hearing to accept the donation of Kids Kove playground equipment from the Friends of Kids Kove. There will also be a public hearing for the acceptance and expenditure of an underage drinking law grant from the state's attorney general's office in the amount of $8,000. See the full agenda here.
