Merrimack School Board Seeks Input From Parents

Ever wished school vacations were scheduled differently? Do you like the calendar as it is? Whatever your opinion, if you are a Merrimack parent, the Merrimack School Board wants to here from you!

Gary G. Krupp

At its February 18, 2013 meeting, the Merrimack School Board discussed the proposed 2013-2014 school calendar.  As noted during the meeting, both the Merrimack Teacher's Association and the Merrimack Educational Support Staff Association are surveyed for input regarding holidays, vacations and school start dates to ensure the school calendar best accommodates the desires of the staff.  What is missing is input from parents.

Do you have an opinion on consolidating Spring and Winter break?  Do you think more holidays are needed?  Does the school start date affect your Summer vacation plans?  Or do you like things the way they are proposed?  Although no formal survey mechanism to collect input from parents currently exists, School Board Chairman, Chris Ortega, asked parents to review the proposed calendar and submit their feedback to board members directly.
