"Kieran's Kovers" Blanket Drive at the YMCA

We're helping Kieran Hummer, a second grade student at Bicentennial Elementary School in Nashua, collect new and gently used blankets. His Mom, Marion Hummer, tells us, "This is Kieran's third year of doing this project.  Last year he collected over 200 between the two YMCA's here in Nashua!  He collected just almost 300 at his school - Bicentennial - in the last 3 years, including this year's project that just ended."
Kiernan will have a "measuring stick/tracker" to put on the wall at the Merrimack Y and Nashua Y so members can see how many blankets are being donated.

Kieran donates all blankets collected to the Nashua Soup Kitchen.  Additionally, his family takes some down to NYC and distribute them at The Coalition for the homeless.  Kieran did that on Thanksgiving Eve this year, and the family plan to go back later this winter again.

If you can help with the blanket drive, please bring a blanket (or a few!) to the large collection boxes located in the YMCA lobby.
