Funeral Today for Merrimack Man Killed in Crash

Eric M. L’Ecuyer, 29, of Merrimack, NH Died Wednesday Dec. 18, 2013 in Milford, NH from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born in Nashua, NH on July 5, 1984 and was a son of Peter J. and Linda C. (Staley) L’Ecuyer of Merrimack. Eric graduated from Merrimack High School in 2003 and then with honors from New England College (Henniker, NH) in 2007. He was an aspiring author and freelance editor and was employed as a Sales Representative for Premium Retail Services. In addition to his parents, members of his family include, his brother Timothy L’Ecuyer of Nashua, sister and brother in-law, Aimee and Michael Piccolo of Merrimack, and their children: Quinten, Isabella, and Kaylee. He is also survived many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as by his grandfather Dr. Robert L’Ecuyer of Portsmouth.

Eric was a voracious reader and appreciated an impressive breadth of genres, equally at home in the worlds of contemporary satire and classical epic, but he had a particular love of science fiction novels and films. He was always ready to talk individually with people about his interests or theirs, but what made him really stand out was that he was equally willing to listen.

Eric believed in following his own path and dedicated himself to this belief even when it wasn’t easy, or when others didn’t understand him. He made an impression on everyone he met. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed for his quiet, easy-going demeanor, for his dedication to conscientiously finishing everything he began, for his tenacity when following a goal, for his brilliant smile, and—more than anything else—for his abiding warmth and simple, gentle human kindness.

Calling hours are will be in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH Tuesday Dec. 24 from 9 – 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack Tuesday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate gifts being sent in memoriam for Eric L'Ecuyer '07 to New England College, Office of Advancement, 98 Bridge Street, Henniker, NH 03242. These memorial gifts will used to help support student scholarships.
