William D. Scadova to be Laid to Rest Wednesday

Merrimack man passed away on Jan. 2 after battling a long illness.

William D. Scadova, 62, of Merrimack passed away on January 2, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a courageous battle waged against a long illness finally ceased.

He was born on July 26, 1951 in Keene, NH to Francis and Geraldine (Johnson) Scadova. He graduated from Keene High School in 1970, and went on to graduate from Keene State College in 1979, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Given his effortless ability to be genuine and his knack of making those around him comfortable, this degree was most fitting.

William served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1971 – 1975. He was especially proud of his time served, and often entertained his children with vivid retellings of more humorous times during his tenure with the service. For nearly the past 25 years, William was an independent Financial Advisor, before that working for various brokerage firms. He built his business on values such as transparency, honesty, and integrity – values seldom employed in that industry, and in turn had a fiercely loyal clientele.

His favorite times were without a doubt those spent with his family. Beyond that, William honed his skills as a cook and often made meals of gourmet quality on what seemed to be a daily basis. He loved walking his beloved dog Sophie, was an avid fan of the cinema, enjoyed nature, and had a particular affinity for the book “Chesapeake”.

He is survived by his one and only true love of 38 years, Donna (Denis) Scadova of Merrimack; three sons, Brian Scadova of Merrimack, and Kevin and Greg Scadova, both of Nashua; two grandchildren, Mariah and Olivia, both of Pelham; five brothers, Thomas Scadova of Merrimack, Robert Scadova of Manchester, Arnold Scadova of Keene, Glen Scadova of Scottsdale, AZ, and Gary Scadova of Seattle, WA; a sister, Joyce Painchaud of West Swanzey; and several nieces and nephews.
