Arrest Log: Man Charged With Assaulting Girlfriend

The following information was provided by Merrimack Police. An arrest does not indicated a conviction.

A Merrimack man is facing charges after his girlfriend reported that he assaulted her earlier this month.

Paul Mungovan, 44, of Wire Road, Merrimack, was charged with domestic-related simple assault in the incident.

Police say they were visited at the station on Aug. 4 by a woman who said her boyfriend had assaulted her at a residence on Wire Road.

After a short investigation at his home, Mungovan was arrested.

He was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear before the Merrimack's district court on Aug. 12 to answer to the charge.

Also arrested recently were:


Mohamed Zaghlouol, 20, of Beech Street, Manchester,
on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking. Police say they were called to Solstice, at the Merrimack Premium Outlets for a reported theft of sunglasses. Police reviewed security footage from the incident which showed the man taking the sunglasses police say. An investigation indicated Zaghoul was the man in the footage and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Zaghoul turned himself in to police and was released on $750 personal recognizance bail. He was ordered to Merrimack's district court on Sept. 6, to answer to the charges.

Michael Altobello, 50, of Tanglewood Way, Merrimack, was arrested Aug. 8 and charged with simple assault and resisting arrest. Police were called to Scituate Place on Thursday for an intoxicated man with a foot injury. Police say when they arrived, they began questioning him when Altobello allegedly got agitated and assaulted an officer. While trying to place him into custody, he also allegedly resisted Altobello was released on $ 1,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear before Merrimack's district court on Sept. 6.

Andrew Publicover, 21, of Amherst Road, Merrimack, was arrested on domestic-related reckless conduct. Police say they were called via 911 on July 31 to a home on Amherst Road for an unknown reason. When police arrived they say they learned Publicover had thrown a sharp kitchen utensil at a family member during an argument. Publicover was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear before Merrimack's district court on Aug. 2, to answer to the charge of domestic related reckless conduct.
