Nashua Man Arrested in Assault of Merrimack Woman

Merrimack Police say Thomas Foden charged with burglary and 2nd Degree Assault.

Merrimack Police said Thomas Foden, 39, of 57 Tyler St., #409, Nashua, was charged with burglary and second degree assault counts for allegedly breaking into a Pondview Drive residence on Nov. 25.

Police arriving on the scene to the report of an assault located a woman who had been "severely injured" by Foden, whom they described as a family member.

Foden allegedly forced his way into the residence, where he assaulted the woman.

The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack and was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, police said.

In addition to burglary, Foden faces three counts of second degree assault. He was taken to the Merrimack Police Department where he was processed and held on $50,000 cash bail.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 26. At his court appearance today, according to the Union Leader report, a judge looking at images of Foden's mother's head trauma, responded, "These pictures are some of the most awful pictures I've ever seen."
