Police Seek Info on Man Who Assaulted 9-year-old Girl

Merrimack police: The man grabbed the girl while she was playing in a neighbor's yard, and he pulled her into the garage and shut the door.

The Merrimack Police Department is seeking public help in trying to identify a man who was reported to have assaulted a 9-year-old girl May 27.

The man grabbed the girl while she was playing in a neighbor's yard, and he pulled her into the garage and shut the door, according to police. He was last seen running into the wooded area behind homes in the area of Maidstone Drive.

The assault occurred at about 4 p.m. 

Police said the man was wearing dark clothes, had dark skin and had just emerged from the garage area at the time.

The man did not say anything and there was no further description, according to police.
