Rollover on Everett Sends Driver to the Hospital

The ramp east to I-293 was temporarily closed as a result of the accident.

Merrimack and Bedford fire departments responded to a rollover accident on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Bedford that sent the driver to the hospital Wednesday night.

State Police say the driver, John Brennan, 44, of Ashland, Mass., was taken to the Elliot Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The single-vehicle accident occurred around 8 p.m. on the ramp from Route 101 East to Interstate 293.

Brennan was the only person in the car.

Preliminary investigation indicated the car was traveling too fast for the ramp's turn, crossed the center median and rolled over on the ramp, police said. The ramp east to I-293 was temporarily closed as a result of the accident.

The 2005 Acura RSX was destroyed in the crash, according to State Police.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation by State Police Troop B in Bedford by Trooper Christopher Cummings.
