Woman Arrested after Low-Speed Pursuit

The driver is accused of being a habitual offender, disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest.

Merrimack police arrested a local woman April 23 and charged her with being a habitual offender, disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest.

Police said an officer observed Gerald Deangelis, 65, of 2 Echo Shore Drive, Merrimack, driving near Burger King and the officer knew she was under suspension. After confirming it with police dispatch, the officer pulled the vehicle over. When the officer approached the vehicle, Deangelis allegedly drove off.

Police said she did not exceed the speed limit and drove to her house, as the officer followed along to her residence. The officer attempted to place her under arrest and she tried to pull away, before being handcuffed without resistance, according to Merrimack police.

She was scheduled to be arraigned April 24 in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack.
