Woman Charged With Stealing Groceries 2 Times in 3 Days

The following information was provided by Merrimack Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Merrimack woman who police say stole groceries from Shaw's Supermarket twice in three days was arrested over the weekend.

Cassandra Brown, 24, of 37 Naticook Road, Merrimack, was charged with two counts of theft by unauthorized taking when she was arrested on a warrant on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the charges stem from an investigation with loss prevention from Shaw’s Supermarket regarding two incidents in which Brown allegedly took groceries from Shaw's without paying for them on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1.

Brown was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack district court on Jan. 7 to answer to the misdemeanor charges.

A misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail and up to $2,000 in fines.
