Wind Advisory in Effect for Merrimack Tonight

Strong gusts could result in some isolated power outages.

The National Weather Service has issued several severe weather advisories for Merrimack and the rest of Southern New Hampshire on Monday night.

Strong winds are possible from 2 to 8 p.m., according to the advisory. There is also the potential for isolated severe thunderstorms in Hillsborough County that may bring very heavy rain, which could bring local street flooding and ponding before 7:15 p.m.

Winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts of up to 45 mph. The winds could down branches or small trees, possibly resulting in some isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult for some vehicles.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast between 31 to 39 mph or gusts between 46 and 57 mph.
