After Leaving Merrimack, Morrissette Lands in Westford, Mass.

Jeff Morrissette is settling into his role as Westford's new Town Planner following several other jobs in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Anyone watching on television or there in person for Planning Board meetings over the past few weeks may have noticed a newcomer. In case you didn’t know, that’s recently appointed Town Planner Jeff Morrissette. And while he’s a newcomer to Westford, he’s certainly no newcomer to the world of zoning and planning. Morrissette arrived from three and a half years as Assistant Town Planner just up Route 3 in Merrimack, NH; which in itself was followed by 11 years of consulting work in Chelmsford and then Marlborough. Although Westford is Morrissette’s first public sector job in Massachusetts, given his background on both sides of the border, he’s felt comfortable stepping in for Chris Kluchman, who in turn was promoted after Angus Jennings …

9 New Sightings Added to Bear Map This Week

Help us make where the bears have been seen around town.

In addition to all the great sighting info, you've posted and sent in loads of photos of the bears, some of the best we've seen in this second year of the map. Even as the sightings begin to get more scarce, as they so often do in the summer, please continue to let us know when you see the bears. We may slow down on map updates, but we'll make sure to get them on the map. Have you seen a bear around town? Tell us about it. Email the information to Editor Carolyn …

I would hope that the editors of Patch would consider changing their "comments" policy. Many of us have given up reading the comments on state and national issues due to the hateful and vitriolic nature of comments posted usually by those who use pseudonyms. It is way too easy to post something that is just plain nasty and adds little to the conversation if you are hiding behind something other …   more ›
