Get Your Powerball Tickets for Tonight's $400m Jackpot

Morning news and notes for Sept. 18.

ICYMI. The Powerball jackpot for tonight's drawing has climbed to an estimated jackpot of $400 million. That's the fourth largest Powerball drawing ever. Taken as a lump sum, it would equate to $226 million. Still an outrageous number that would set up for the winner for life and then some. What would you do with that kind of money?

Post your yard sale. We know a lot of people are getting their final yard sales in before the weather becomes less-than-ideal to stand outside selling the thing you no longer want. Have you put your upcoming yard sale on our map, yet? Share your yard sale plans here, and we'll help promote it for you on Patch.

Coffee house request. Starbucks CEO Howard Schulz issued a letter Tuesday asking those who are permitted to open carry to please keep their guns out of Starbucks. Schulz said he wasn't banning guns in the coffee shop around the country but appealing to the public to please adhere to his desire to keep the political gun debate outside of his coffee shops. Read the full letter here. Do you think he presents a valid argument or is he stepping on toes?

Wednesday Weather. Last night felt more like winter was coming than a beautiful 74-degree and sunny day. But that's what Mother Nature seems to have in store for us today. Tonight, temperatures will dip to about 46 degrees. Chilly, but still about 10 degrees warmer than Tuesday overnight.
