Whole Foods Market Coming to Nashua in 2014

Market to open just off Exit 7 in the Gate City.

Hey Whole Foods fans, some good news.

No, Whole Foods has not announced it will come to Merrimack, but Nashua Patch Editor Carol Robidoux reports this afternoon that a Whole Foods Market is slated to come to Nashua, and will be located not far from the Merrimack border.

According to Robidoux, an alert Nashua Patch reader sent us this: "Drove by the Turnpike Plaza at exit 7W Nashua and there is a WHOLE FOODS sign there - says coming soon."

She called Heather McCready, who handles public relations for Whole Foods North Atlantic region who reports: "Yes, Whole Foods is coming soon, to the Turnpike Plaza on Amherst Street. We're looking to open in 2014. Unfortunately, I don't have any other details for you at this time."

The Turnpike Plaza is home to Bob's Store, A.C. Moore and Staples and is the former home of Market Basket, which shuttered recently when the new Market Basket opened just up the road in Somerset Plaza.

Though it isn't a win for Merrimack's empty old Shaw's Supermarket, there is another grocery shopping option coming to the area sometime next year.
