Merrimack Man Charged With Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault

Police say later, when victim tried to call police, Allen prevented that person from doing so.

A 46-year-old Merrimack man was charged Wednesday with forcing non-consensual sex with another person and trying  to prevent the victim from calling the police.

Robert R. Allen Jr., 46, of Merrimack, was charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault and obstructing the report of a crime when he was arrested on a felony warrant Dec. 18.

The warrant stemmed from a report of a disturbance, in the area of Pearl Court, on Dec. 1, at 7:52 p.m. When they arrived, police made contact with Allen and the other person involved and began a series of interviews with numerous follow up interviews with each person.

Police say they were able to piece together the allegation that earlier on the morning of Dec. 1, Allen had nonconsensual sexual intercourse with the victim by using physical force. Police say the victim attempted to confront Allen about the assault, during which time an argument ensued and the victim’s initial attempt to call 911 to was prevented by Allen, police say.

Allen was arrested and processed on the above charges. Allen was was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and was scheduled to appear before the Merrimack district court on Dec. 19, to answer to the charges.
