One Month Later, Police Still Searching for Bank Robber

Police ask anyone who recognizes this man to please call.

It's been a little over a month since police were called to People's United Bank on Route 101A for a bank robbery in which a man showed the teller what he said was an explosive device and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Merrimack Police Lt. Denise Roy said Wednesday police have no new leads in the case, but they are confident someone out there knows the man who was caught in the surveillance footage.

"We're left wondering, either he's not from around here or has a face you see every day that no one associates with a bank robber," Roy said.

Merrimack Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been investigating the mid-morning bank robbery since June 14.

Police responded to People's United Bank in Pennichuck Square just before 10:30 a.m. for the call of a lone male bank robber who was possibly armed with a small bomb. Police said he gave the teller a note demanding money and was in and out of the bank "within minutes" fleeing on foot toward the back of the bank where it is believed he had parked or had a car waiting for him.
